There have always been songs; we have always been beings who sing.

For as long as we’ve gathered, there have been songs for every part of life—
to collect water, to navigate the seas, to honor the crops, to sing over meals,
after births, for birthdays, dinners, celebrations, deaths, and departures.
Songs to help us move from one season to the next, or simply to enjoy a Thursday night together.

We sang in gratitude, in sorrow, in work, in prayer, in ceremony, in community.
There have always been songs; we have always been beings who sing with life.

✨ Now it’s time to bring the songs back in.
This series is a chance to deepen your song practice, learn new songs, and embody the ones you may already love. We’ll gather in community to sing together, exploring songs that have come through me as well as powerful offerings from other incredible song holders.

I love trying new things and being delighted by them! Something that I have done a hundred times feels fresh, a new group of people, a new way to do it, the unique energy of THIS TIME.

Eliz and I have been loving this new online constellation space. Loving the ways we can connect over the digital web into the larger web. Each time it’s new, each time it’s nourishing. So much so that we have a whole bunch of summer dates coming up!

There is a moment in a constellation where everything settles—things slow down or come to a stop—and the final shape is revealed. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, a sense of peace washes over the field, and you can feel love flood the space. It moves through the seeker, down their family line, into every representative on the field, and into each person in the room. It’s magic.

It’s been said many times in many ways: we are all connected. Constellation work and those magical moments allow us to feel that connection in our bodies, even if our minds don’t fully understand it

Eliz and I experienced many small, magical, and collective moments during our first online constellation gathering, and we’re thrilled to be hosting another one this Thursday. There’s still space to join, and we’ll be offering a few more throughout the summer.

Each gathering will be different and unique because each circle is different and unique. We’ll explore different themes each time. All levels of experience are welcome.

Constellation has taught me so much about true inclusion. Not at the cost of the individual, but when in ‘right order’ everything can have a place, everything can be acknowledged, and LOVE can be the connective threads.

It feels like being able to look under the hood of life and understand more about what is really going on. How can we widen the picture and see more of what is at play? How can we let love be the flowing force that connects all things? Years later, I am still hooked.

And honestly, the best way to understand it is to experience it.

Sometimes this life feels like an absolute dream, shifting from a magical landscape to a nightmare in a matter of moments. Back and forth and my little human heart just trying to keep up and stay open. What does 2025 hold?

@grandmother_sarah has taught me so much about dreaming and listening to the Dreamtime. And for the past several years I have been following her teachings and dreaming with groups for the 12 nights starting on the winter solstice to ask the question “show us what we need to know about the coming year”. What will help anchor our community and see the wider picture? What will keep us resourced? What do the dreams know that we are just waking up to?

I’m still sitting with how this year’s 12 nights will unfold and what’s in front of us but what I do feel is it’s going to be a year of movement and decisions. A year of action even in the fog. So here the beginnings of my dream poem for the year after sitting with my dear cohort because one thing is for sure - we will still dream, we will still sing, we will still create. Our art and expression matters more than ever before.

12 nights for 2025
Are you the Devil or am I
Boy let’s not talk too much
This feeling is magical
Dancing through life
Under the Rowan tree

What you perceive isn’t what is really happening
It never is

When it comes to social change, Thrive Choir believes that music is not a luxury, but a necessity. We have mobilized thousands in song in the streets in support of social and environmental justice movements.⁣

I can feel summer in the air. In these hot days and perfect nights, I can feel the call for expression, celebrating the sun and singing LOUD! And yet I can feel the compression of the moment we are in. What am I not saying out loud because of fear? What keeps me from singing fully and often? Have I put my own voice in a Shelter in Place?⁣

There is a deeper knowing in me that the Voice shows and soothes all. It is both the signal of change needed and the healing. I have been diving deep with people blending the mechanical and magical elements of our voice. Looking at how our voice webs throughout our lives. Connecting us to our ancestors and the earth. I often struggle to explain just what happens in a session because it's potency and ripples are more than words. ⁣

Today started out with a terrible nights sleep, dragging myself out of bed, and rushing out the door. Things continued to fall apart, no go as planned and continually change. I was doing my best to go with the flow and not get frustrated and then all became clear...⁣
